About 12 miles southwest of our Gainesville base. Archer is rural, lots are larger, and most homes sit on open property without much tree canopy. That means more direct sun on exteriors and a real need for UV-resistant paint systems.
Housing stock, landmarks, and the kinds of jobs that come up most often here.
Mostly rural single-family with larger lots. Older Florida ranch homes from the 1960s through 1980s, some mobile homes in pockets, and scattered newer custom builds on bigger acreage. Less HOA-governed than Tioga or Haile. Wood, vinyl, and metal siding are all represented.
Full exterior repaints (sun exposure means it needs to happen more often than in town), interior refresh on older ranch homes, and fence staining on larger properties.
A lot of Archer homes sit on open lots without much tree cover. The south and west exposures see heavy direct sun, which kills cheap exterior paint in 3 to 4 years. We pick UV-resistant systems and spend extra time on the sun-exposed elevations: better prep, an extra coat where it makes sense, and pigments rated for Florida sun. Done right, the south side ages at roughly the same pace as the north.
