Gainesville is our home base, and A+ Painting and Repair is the residential house painter that works every neighborhood in it, from the historic Duck Pond and Pleasant Street districts to mid-century Northeast Gainesville and the newer builds in NW Gainesville. Interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, drywall, and wood. Whatever your home is, we have likely painted one like it before.
Housing stock, landmarks, and the kinds of jobs that come up most often here.
1920s and 1930s Craftsman bungalows in the Duck Pond and Pleasant Street historic districts, mid-century ranches throughout the 1950s and 1960s neighborhoods like Highland Court Manor and Northeast Gainesville, and newer infill construction in NW Gainesville. Many older homes still have original wood siding that needs more careful prep than newer stucco builds.
Whole-house interior repaints for new owners or resale prep, exterior repaints on the older wood-frame housing stock around UF, and cabinet refinishing in 1990s and 2000s kitchens that are ready for a refresh.
Historic districts have different rules and different homes than newer parts of town. Older wood siding usually needs more prep than newer stucco: more scraping, careful sanding, and primers picked for old-growth wood. Exterior color choices may also need approval depending on the district and any homeowner association. We talk through the specifics on the walkthrough so you understand what your home calls for before we put a quote together.
